Giatec Scientific Inc. (Giatec) is looking for a Vice President, Engineering to manage the development and delivery of Giatec’s product line as part of our growth.

 

Our ideal candidate would be a technical leader who is a strong collaborator and would enjoy working closely with other team members.  They will be passionate about people development and committed to creating the best environment and opportunities for the Giatec team to succeed.

 

They will be up to date on current software development practices and bring innovation and an open-minded approach to working with others.  We are looking for someone that will bring energy and enthusiasm to the role, along with a keen interest in continuous learning.

 

This role is hybrid with a strong on-site presence at our head-office in Ottawa.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Manage the development and delivery of Giatec’s product line

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field.

• A track record as a technology leader with a strong background of at least three+ years of running the operations of a software development team of between 20 to 100 Developers.   

• Experience in managing SaaS products.
• Experience in introducing and using Agile s/w development methodologies.
• Either experience in managing firmware and hardware development or the passion for learning and aptitude to work effectively with others to do so.

• Experience in implementing process and organizational change, when needed, to ensure delivery of the product roadmap in a timely manner that meets quality and security standards.
• Extensive experience in building, mentoring, and managing teams (onsite, hybrid and remote-friendly).

• Experience in working closely and effectively with CTO and Product Management to bring products to market.
